Access Issues

Last modified: May 6, 2008 - 9:11 AM

Wollondilly Disability Access Advisory Committee was formed in March 2001 and currently provides advice to Council on strategies to ensure the equity in access to services and facilities.

It promotes a positive awareness of disability issues within Council and the community at large and provides information to Council staff about the needs of people with disabilities.

Council employs a Community Projects Officer - Ageing and Disability whose role is to:

  • Assist the DAA committee to fulfill its functions.
  • Promote access to resources and services to enhance the lifestyles of people with disabilities.
  • Promote genuine participation in the decision making process.
  • Facilitate the development of projects to meet Councils' access and equity goals for the residents of the Shire who have disabilities.
  • Provide information to the community about services available to assist people with disabilities and frail aged. Some of the services available to Wollondilly Residents are listed in the Wollondilly Community Directory.
For further information please click here. Council's Community Projects Officer - Ageing and Disability  can be contacted on 4677 1150.
