Food Safety

Under the NSW Food Regulation Partnership, Council is responsible for monitoring and enforcement of all retail food businesses within the Shire. Council inspects all retail premises on an annual basis to check compliance with the Food Safety Standards.  Food businesses that are registered with Council include:

Onsite Sewage/Septic

More than half of Wollondilly’s population lives in rural and rural-residential areas, where Sydney Water’s sewer system is unavailable. As such, there are over 5000 on-site sewage management systems installed in the Shire.

Wood Heaters and Fires

Solid fuel home heaters are also known as ‘slow combustion heaters/ cookers’, ‘pot belly stoves’, ‘wood fire heaters’ or ‘tile fires’.
