Where is Mermaids Pools and Tahmoor Gorge bushwalk?

Mermaids Pools can be reached by following Rockford Rd, Tahmoor to Charles Pt Rd (on the right hand side past the Bargo River).  After turning into Charles Pt Rd immediatly turn right again to the parking area beside the bridge.

Follow the trail for approximatly 200m to a large flat rocky area where the track divides in two, with the lower track following the water and the upper track (easy) following the ridge.  Both tracks join up again on the Matilda Track.  A short distance further along is a path leading down to the See Through Pools.  Returning to the Matilda Track and a little further on is a track down to the top of Mermaids Pools.

Please allow approximatly one and a half hours return for the Mermaids Pools.  Care should be taken with small children as the walk has many cliffs and water hazards along the way.  Visitors should take their own water and food as no facilities are available in the area.

From Mermaida Pools the track winds along past three lookouts to Sugar Loaf Pass then down some very steep rock steps to Tahmoor Gorge.  The track then follows the water back up the Bargo River past Pencil Falls to Tahmoor Canyon, then returns to Mermaids Pool Lookout.

An additional walk from the car park area will take you in the opposite direction via Teatree Hollow to the Bargo River Rd.
