Home Library Service
Last modified: November 6, 2008 - 12:37 AM
The Home Library Service is designed to ensure that each house bound patron receives a Library service to fit their individual needs. People become house bound for many reasons. They could be aged, infirm, terminally ill, handicapped, visually impaired, isolated or recovering from major surgery. If you or somebody you know cannot come to the Library, then the Home Library Service will come to them. Whether it is for audio books, large print books or The Bush Telegraph (on cassette or Large Print), their information needs must be met. For many patrons we are their only visitor and their only contact with a community service. We can recommend a number of community services such as Home Care, Community Transport, Respite Care and Meals on Wheels. We are an information service as well as a provider of reading materials.
DeliveryThe Home Library Service delivers fortnightly.
InstitutionsInstitutions can have their own library card and bulk loans can be arranged.
How to ApplyGenerally most patrons apply by completing the Home Library Service application form. Please contact the Library on 4677 8300 for further information.
VolunteersThe Library is always looking for volunteers who can help with the delivery of Library materials to our house bound patrons. If you want to help the people in your community, if you have a caring heart and your own car, please contact the Client Services Librarian on (02) 4677 8300.
