I have just bought a new block of land, how can I check if it has been registered?

To lodge a Development Application for a new house, the block first needs to be registered.

Property registration can be confirmed by searching NSW Cadastral Data on SIX MAPS.

To check your information on the Six Maps website select advanced Search from the Search dropdown menu.

Select the Lot tab at the top, enter Lot an DP details in the corresponding fields and click the search button.

If the search returns a map of the property and a Lot and DP in the search field, your land has been registered and you may proceed with lodging a Development Application with Council.

No result from a search indicates the land was not found in the cadastral data and is not available for a Section 149 Certificate.
