Wollondilly Pesticides Notification Plan

View from Warragamba Lookout

The Notification Plan for the Use of Pesticide in Public Spaces within the Wollondilly Local Government Area (LGA) or its agents has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Pesticides Regulation 1995.

Pesticide is defined as any substance or mixture of substances used to destroy, suppress or alter the life cycle of any pest, and includes bactericides, baits, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides and repellents. Public space is defined as land owned or controlled by public authorities (such as Council) that the public is entitled to access.

The aim of this Plan is to ensure the community is supplied with information about pesticide application by Council within public spaces. The preparation of this Plan formalises Council's existing public notification procedures with regard to its use of pesticides.
