Development Proposal - 180 Mockingbird Road Pheasants Nest

An application for Designated Development has been received by Wollondilly Shire Council to use the following land:
Property: 180 Mockingbird Road Pheasants Nest, (Lot: 264, DP: 625326)
For the Purpose of: Intensive Livestock Agriculture/ Intensive Livestock Industries (Poultry Farm), erection of seven (7) sheds, machinery, litter and composting shed, workers amenity, 2 dams and associated infrastructure.
Applicant: Tattersall Lander Pty Ltd & J Demanuele
Wollondilly Shire Council is the consent authority unless the application is called up by the Sydney West Joint Regional Planning Panel in which case the panel will be the consent authority.
The proposed development, is a designated development for a livestock intensive industry (Poultry Farm), erection of seven (7) sheds, machinery, litter and composting shed, workers amenity, 2 dams and associated infrastructure.
The Development Application is also an application for Integrated Development, and the following approvals are required:
- Approval for a licence under s91 of the Water Management Act 2000 is required from the Department of Primary Industries – Water.
- Approval of the Subsidence Advisory in respect to an approval under the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act 2017.
The Development Application, plans and other documents accompanying the application, including the environmental impact statement may be inspected at Council’s Offices, 62-64 Menangle Street, Picton, during ordinary office hours between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted) for a period of thirty one (31) days commencing 15 March 2018 and ending 16 April 2018.
Any person may make a written submission to Council concerning the Development Application. If a submission is made by way of objection, the grounds of the objection must be specified. Written submissions received may become a public document. Submissions will be received from 15 March 2018 until 5.00pm on 16 April 2018. Unless the proposed development is development about which the Planning Assessment Commission has conducted a review, any person who makes a submission by way of objection and who is dissatisfied with the determination of the consent authority to grant development consent, may appeal to the Land and Environment Court. If the Planning Assessment Commission conducts a review, the Minister’s determination of the application is final and not subject to appeal.
(Under S147 of the EP&A Act, any person making a submission is required to disclose reportable political donations and gifts ($1000 or more) made to any local Councillor or Staff member within 2 years of making of the submission. If the application or gift is made after the submission, a disclosure must be made within 7 days of the donation or gift having been made. Any submission you make is open to public scrutiny. Council is required to release written comments or submissions under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 [GIPAA]. The Act imposes obligations on us to place submissions on Council’s website and submissions may be used in Council reports or court proceedings. In this regard, your comments should be restricted to the proposed development.
