In February 2026, Council's Annual Independent Community Satisfaction Survey was undertaken by Micromex Research via a random telephone survey with 402 residents living in the Wollondilly local government area.
The survey is a way in which Council gathers direct feedback and data from the community to help:
84% of residents are at least somewhat satisfied with the performance of Council, compared to 81% in 2025 - and the highest in over a decade. Noting the result is above the local government benchmark of 82% and comparative council benchmark of 68%.
80% of residents are at least somewhat satisfied with the performance of Councillors, compared to 76% in 2025. The best result since the question was included in the survey in 2020.
78% of residents are at least somewhat satisfied* with Council’s efforts to inform residents, increasing from 75% in 2025.
78% of residents who contacted Council are at least somewhat satisfied* with the service from Council, slightly down on 80% in 2025.
Residents love living in Wollondilly. 95% of residents rated their quality of life as ‘good’ to ‘excellent’ in the Wollondilly Shire, compared to 93% in 2025. Noting the result is above the local government benchmark of 92% and comparative council benchma
Only of residents 28% wanted Council to change the start time for Council meetings (3:30 pm). Only 10% of residents want to alter the start time of the community forums.
This year’s survey introduced several new questions, including items exploring residents’ awareness of, and possible preferences regarding, Community Forum and Council Meeting times. Our aim is to continue including these questions in future surveys so we can track trends over time
