Wollondilly Shire Council is one of the fastest growing Councils in NSW. In this role you will play a key part in the Sustainable Growth unit, undertaking strategic planning tasks and projects to facilitate the long term growth of Wollondilly Shire.
Located in a unique and enviable geographical position - only 1.5 hours’ drive from Sydney CBD, 45 minutes’ drive from Liverpool and 45 minutes from Wollongong – the Executive Planner Growth Areas role offers all the benefits of lifestyle living but with all the professional challenges of a rapidly growing peri-urban Council.
Part of the Western Sydney City Deal, the area will see a critical amount of Government investment rolled out for transport, jobs and infrastructure across Western and Southwest Sydney. As Executive Planner Growth Areas, you will be providing professional advice across Council on strategic matters relating to Priority Growth Areas. You will be also be facilitating community engagement and working closely with other Government departments such as the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.
With a consultative approach, you will possess strong communication and negotiation skills. With the ability to prepare high quality, accurate written studies and reports, you will also have a strong knowledge and understanding of the legislative process in Local Government in regards to strategic planning.
