Emergency management is a legislative requirement for Local Government; as a result, the Local Emergency Management Committee was established to overview, plan and test the local community emergency management arrangements in Wollondilly.
The Committee is responsible for the preparation of plans in relation to the prevention, preparation, response and recovery for emergencies in the Wollondilly Local Government Area. Additionally, the Local Emergency Management Committee facilitates training and exercises for emergency management.

- NSW Police Service
- Fire and Rescue NSW
- Ambulance Service of NSW
- NSW Rural Fire Service
- NSW State Emergency Service
- South Western Sydney Local Health District
- NSW Department of Family and Community Services
- NSW Department of Primary Industries
The Committee meets three times a year and as required during emergency operations and bushfire season.
