The Floodplain Risk Management Committee assists Wollondilly Shire Council in implementing the NSW Flood Prone Land Policy, which aims to reduce the impacts of flooding on communities and property owners while minimising losses through ecologically sustainable methods. Guided by the NSW Government’s Flood Risk Management Manual, the committee provides advice and direction to support floodplain risk management planning, collaboration between Council and the local community, and strategies that help reduce flood risk and build resilience.
