Initial refurbishments will see Council meetings move to the Shire Hall. The Council meeting chambers will be located in the space formerly used by Children’s Services administration offices, with these offices relocated to Argyle Street. The floor in the small hall will be replaced, the floor in the main hall will be levelled and polished, a new kitchen and amenities block will be constructed. The remainder of the refurbishments – better climate control, improved changing facilities, and the stage area being opened up for outdoor performances – will be completed later in the development, likely during Stage 3.
