A New Park For Appin

As part of the Parks for People program, Council is working with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to hear from the community about a new park for Appin.

Picton Bypass

Roads and Maritime Services will carry out planning and investigations for a bypass of Picton between the old Hume Highway and Picton Road. RMS have set up a website to answer questions on the Picton Bypass planning and scope of works.

Picton High School Redevelopment

Wollondilly Shire Council has received a Development Application from NSW Planning & Environment for the redevelopment of Picton High School. The public exhibition will take place from Thursday 10 May 2018 until Friday 8 June 2018.

Warragamba Dam Raising Project

Wollondilly Council has joined forces with Blue Mountains Council to oppose the raising of the Warragamba Dam Wall, to protect valuable indigenous sites as well as the natural environment, plant and animal species that will be impacted by the proposed wall raising.

Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport

In April 2014 the Australian Government announced Badgerys Creek as the site of a second major airport for Sydney. The draft Airport Plan and the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Western Sydney Airport were released for consultation in October 2015.

M12 Motorway

On behalf of the Australian and NSW Governments, Roads and Maritime Services is planning the M12 Motorway as part of the $4.1 billion Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan. The M12 Motorway will provide direct access to Western Sydney International Airport at Badgerys Creek and connect to Sydney’s motorway network.
