Council's Hardship Policy
Council recognises that there are cases of genuine financial hardship that may cause ratepayers to have difficulty paying their rates and charges or other sundry debts. The Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 allows Council to provide a range of assistance to ratepayers experiencing genuine financial hardship. For further information about Council’s Hardship Policy, contact Council on 4677 1100.
Rate Relief is available for those experiencing hardship. To request for relief please fill in our Rate Relief Application form.

Banks have announced they will offer support to small business due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Supporting Local Businesses
The COVID-19 outbreak is impacting businesses globally in many ways including reduced trade, temporary business closures, staffing issues, and supply chain interruptions.
The NSW Small Business Commissioner has provided information to assist Small Business with tips and resources to help you manage your small business during the crisis and into the recovery phase.

COVID Safe Businesses
Details and templates for Covid-19 Safety plans can be found on Service NSW website.
Premises should register their Covid-19 safety plan with Service NSW and display their COVID SAFE badge on digital and social channels such as Facebook and Google maps and to display COVID SAFE posters to make customers feel confident in attending their premises.
Support for Australian Workers and Business in Hume
The Morrison Government has today released the second stage of its economic plan to cushion the economic impact of the coronavirus and help build a bridge to recovery.
Cash Flow Assistance
The Government is providing up to $100,000 to eligible small and medium sized businesses, and not-for profits (including charities) that employ people, with a minimum payment of $20,000. These payments will help businesses’ and not-for-profits’ cash flow so they can keep operating, pay their rent, electricity and other bills and retain staff.
