Bush Fire Recovery Grants
Commonwealth Bank announced that it was donating $1 million towards bushfire disaster relief efforts, including $750,000 worth of Bushfire Recovery Grants to help support local communities and replace facilities lost in the fires, as well as a $250,000 donation to the Australian Red Cross.
CommBank has now announced that it has increased both the total value of grants and the value of each grant in response to expected demand, to assist these communities with the rebuilding process as follows:
- Grant applications up to a new maximum of $50,000 per grant; and
- Projects worth at least $10 million are expected to be funded through the scheme.

Commonwealth Bank is now accepting applications for Bushfire Recovery Grants. Applications close 31 March 2020.

Donations
To enable CBA customers to support the relief efforts, they have also opened donations through CANGive in the CommBank App, as well as accepting donations in all their branches for the Australian Red Cross Appeal.
On top of CommBank's own $250,000 donation to the Australian Red Cross appeal, the Bank will dollar match all customer donations, with this money directed to the grants program.
Australia's all-time leading Test wicket-taker Shane Warne has auctioned his iconic baggy green for $1,007,500, after a winning bid from the Commonwealth Bank last Friday, with all money raised going to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
CBA will take the baggy green on a national tour to raise additional funds for communities devastated by bushfires before it becomes a permanent exhibit at the Bradman Museum in Bowral, NSW.
