Stories Towards Recovery
Storytelling is an opportunity to transform the internal/inner dialogue of ones own mind and story to be heard. Sharing your story helps validate what it is that you have experienced and help process and find healing. The power of listening to one's story, allows for us the listener to be transported into another’s world and see things through the eyes of the storyteller, and be privileged in supporting one to be heard and understood. Stories Towards Recovery is focused on providing families and individuals within the Wingecarribee LGA with support to unpack their experience, share their stories, and find healing through creative outlets. We aim to work with families and individuals at a personal level, by engaging in conversation and creative activities that may or may not result in creative public work, but primarily provide a supportive environment to be heard and understood. Working with Wingecarribee Council, and associated organisations, our mission is to provide an open, warm and supportive space for people to be who they are.
Stories Towards Regeneration (Completed)
Stories Towards Regeneration is in response to the 2020 bush fires that affected the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee areas, supporting ALL people of this area to share their stories, musings, and creative expressions 1 year on from this catastrophic event. This projects also includes a range of songs that were produced designed to tell the stories of the community.
Sounds of the Land (in production)
This project is focused on community engagement and cultural connectedness where together we will record and capture local sounds, combined with images into an interactive phone application. Users will be able to interact with sounds, as well as record their own sounds and contribute to a community of sounds. The app also includes self reflective practice through guided and self guided features.
