Picton residents who are willing to join a local fox control group are invited to an informal catch up at the Wollondilly Community Nursery. Fox traps and monitoring cameras can be loaned for free and taken home from the nursery. Expert advice and training in the use of a fox trap will also be given prior to the fox trap loan. Property inspections can also be arranged.
Foxes pose a serious threat to local wildlife in the area as well as to livestock, domestic pets and native vegetation. Coordinated control campaigns involving neighbours are the most effective way to reduce fox and pest animal numbers. The campaign takes a whole-of-community approach to fox management which includes training for landholders in cage trapping, laying baits safely and how to reduce resources available to foxes.
Where: Wollondilly Community Nursery, Wonga Road, Picton.
When: 11 January 2021, 10.00am - 12.00pm.
