Sustainability Strategy Overview
The Sustainability Strategy sets out a long-term vision for integrating sustainability into all aspects of Council operations and services. It is built on four key pillars:

- Caring for Country - increase awareness of First Nations culture and land management practices through education
- Biodiversity protection - maintain natural areas through bush regeneration, native plantings, and seed collection
- Incorporate sustainability credentials in Council's Purchasing Protocol
- Set up a data capture, monitoring and reporting program to track sustainability outcomes
- Increase the health and resilience of the community and environment through education
- Protect integrity and swimability of natural waterways as development progresses

Net Zero Strategy Overview
The Net Zero Strategy outlines Wollondilly Council’s roadmap to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, in alignment with NSW Government targets. It emphasizes Council’s leadership role in climate action.
Key Actions Include:
- Implementing FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) waste collection
- Conducting energy audits at major Council sites, implement energy saving actions and programs
- Transition to renewable energy supply
- Expanding solar panel installations
- Increasing urban tree canopy coverage for carbon sequestration and reducing heat island effects
