Bushcare is a community-based program that plays an important role in the conservation and restoration of our environment. It is the process of rehabilitating bushland through the removal of invasive weeds and planting of Indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses.
Bushcare reduces threats of weeds and encourages natural regeneration. Invasive weed species pose a significant threat to our ecosystems, and by carrying out minimal disturbance programs like Bushcare, we can help to make our bushland more resilient to events like climate change and natural disasters.
The ultimate aim of Bushcare is to conserve and improve local biodiversity and increase important habitat for wildlife.
