Community organisations across the Shire are now able to benefit from an increased range of financial assistance through Wollondilly Shire Council, following the adoption of the revised Financial Assistance Framework.
Community organisations are able to apply for support from Council for a range of community events, programs, activities and awards, small items of equipment and for minor works to local community facilities.
Before considering an application please read the information provided to ensure you are:
- Eligible to apply under a particular program
- Able to submit an application within the timeframe set
- Able to meet the criteria for that funding program, and
- Able to show a linkage to Council’s Community Strategic Plan

The Sponsorship Program provides funding to support community events, programs or minor works; that Council recognises as having an economic and social benefit to the community and the Wollondilly Local Government Area. | Twice a year in April and September | |
Annual Assistance Program | The Annual Financial Assistance Program provides specific funding to nominated community events and programs that are conducted on an annual basis. The program also assists community owned halls through the provision of a rate subsidy and local schools through a Mayoral School Citizenship Award. | No application required- Organisations will be chosen by Council |
Donations Program | The Donations Program provides monetary donations to individuals and not for profit community groups and organisations. The program provides a process for the determination of one-off or ad-hoc requests made to Council that cannot be made through other programs within the Financial Assistance Framework. | Open year round |
The Wollondilly Dangerous Tree Removal Community Grants Program aims to support residents of the Wollondilly Local Government Area impacted by the Green Wattle Creek Fire of 2019/20 with one off financial assistance for 50 residents to apply for up to $10,000 towards the removal of burnt trees assessed as dangerous within fire impacted residential areas of Wollondilly. |
