Community Grants Program
The Community Grants Program provides funding towards community projects, events and small capital equipment purchases to support community organisations and groups operating within the Wollondilly Local Government Area for the benefit of local communities.
The Community Grants Program will open on 18 May 2026 and close 15 June 2026.
Community Projects & Equipment
Up to $3000 for community projects and audio-visual equipment purchases that build skills, identify opportunities, or support activities benefiting locals e.g. open mic nights.

Arts, Cultural & Sustainability Events/Projects
Up to $1000 for projects and events that foster cultural identity, provide accessible arts and cultural opportunities, support the local environment and help make Wollondilly a more sustainable place to live.

Sport, Leisure & Recreation Activities
Up to $1000 for Activities that support healthy, active communities, improve access to physical and social pursuits, and reduce barriers for women and girls in sport.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Demonstrates clear linkages to Council’s Community Strategic Plan,
- Demonstrate a strong community development aspect that involves and benefits the broader community through participation or access,
- Provide evidence of inclusive policies, cultural diversity or ageing communities.
Applications will be assessed against the assessment criteria by a panel comprising of Council Staff and an independent community member.
Grant Conditions
Successful applicants are required to undertake an acquittal process and provide Council with:
- A signed Income and Expenditure statement
- Information on how the grant was spent
- Evaluation of the event or project and its outcomes
- Membership/participation rates
- Copies of any promotional material and media coverage generated
- Details of the acknowledgement of Council’s support within the community
Applications
Applications will be available on Smarty Grants when a funding round opens. Organisations may only submit one application for funding per grant category, per funding round.
