NSW Seniors Festival 2021 is fast approaching and will run from Tuesday 13th April to Saturday 24th 2021. Council is supporting local organisations and groups to advertise their Seniors Festival events in a professionally published booklet in 2021 at no cost.
Given 2020 has been a difficult year particularly for our seniors we have made the decision that this year the calendar of events for Wollondilly will cover events held from Friday 13th April to Friday 18th June 2021.
Previous years’ events and activities have included:
- Picnic at the Park @ Nepean Dam
- Free entry for Seniors at The Oaks Historical Society
- St Marks Church Open Day
- Day @ The Club in Warragamba
- Open Days at Local Mens Sheds
- Sustainability Workshops
- Author visits at Wollondilly Library
- Dementia & Pallative Care Talks
- Café Connect Wollondilly
All community groups working with seniors are encouraged to participate in Seniors Festival 2020 by putting on an event or activity that is either free or low cost for residents. This is a great opportunity for our seniors to get back into the community, socialize and find out about services and activities available to them locally.
Each participating organisation will be responsible for the coordination and management (including costs) of their event / activity as well as ensuring a covid safe activity/event.
To have your event or regular seniors group listed in the booklet, please complete the below online form by Friday 5th March 2021.
A master copy of the booklet will then be forwarded to organisations as well printed booklets. Promotion of the event in the calendar does not preclude your organisation from further promoting your event locally.
If you require any additional information, please contact Vickie Tierney, Community Projects Officer (02) 47677 9550.
