‘Bushtucker Garden’ on the banks of Stonequarry Creek, next to Hume Oval, Picton
Picton will be a hive of activity to mark Earth Hour, with a special community gathering, which includes Water Bugs, Bush Foods and Mud Stomps.
This year, Earth Hour in Australia will celebrate the places we love that make our outdoor lifestyle and the Aussie way of life so great. Wollondilly has a diversity of creeks, rivers, forests, national parks and farm land that make it a unique place to live and explore.
We will be celebrating the creek with a variety of family friendly activities. We will be searching for water bugs along the banks of the creek to discover the amazing world of the little critters that call this place home. You will also be able to learn about bush food plants of the region and sample some tucker.
To wrap up the day we will be having a celebratory mud stomp to live drumming and music to make mud bricks for the outdoor education space at the Wollondilly Community Nursery.
