Waste to Art Workshop 2020

Join award winning artist Al Phemister from the Yass Valley for a free two-day creative workshop turning waste into art. Discover how to recognise waste and rubbish that can be upcycled into art materials then learn a variety of techniques and processes to turn your upcycled materials into 3D art to take home and keep (or even use as a gift).

When: Saturday 8 - Sunday 9 August 10am-4pm
Who: For ages 16+. Limited places available, bookings essential or visit STA online for more information.
What: A range of salvaged materials and all tools provided (you can bring some waste to transform as well)

About Al
Al Phemister is an experienced artist facilitator, he works with people of all ages and abilities with a focus on participation, encouraging all participants to bring out inner creativity and enhance their practical creativity making skills.
Exhibit and Competition
Even better, enter your creative work into the Illuminate Wollondilly Waste to Art Exhibition and Competition, which inspires people to think differently about waste, litter and over consumption through creative thinking.
Categories for the exhibition are:
- over 18 (including professional artists),
- Youth: 12-17 years
- and Junior 7-11 years.
Prize pool of $2600. Made possible by Wollondilly Council, the Environmental protection Agency and Southern Tablelands Arts.
