COUNCIL’S CEO CONTRACT IS RENEWED FOR NEXT FIVE YEARS AS ORGANISATIONAL PERFORMANCE EXCEEDS TARGETS AGAIN

 

Wollondilly Shire Council’s CEO Ben Taylor has been reappointed for a further five years from September 2025 after leading the organisation to exceed key performance targets for the 2024/25 financial year, the fifth year running.

 

Mayor Matt Gould said that Ben Taylor had continued to show outstanding leadership during a time of significant growth for the Wollondilly Shire and has the support of the elected Council to lead the organisation for the next five years.

 

“Since joining us in 2019, Ben has continuously demonstrated his commitment to Wollondilly and advocated enthusiastically on behalf of our community.” 

 

“Ben has transformed Council’s operations, and under his leadership key performance indicators such as community satisfaction, responsiveness to our customers, and delivery of our operational plans has improved year on year.”

 

“During this time, Council has delivered a massive range of new capital works right across the Shire, including buildings, parks, playgrounds and sporting facilities.”

 

“While there is always room for improvement when it comes to our roads, we are seeing faster initial response times for road repair requests and we have a plan in place to continue to improve our road network in the long term.”

 

“The level of staff engagement has also risen consistently. Annual staff survey results show that team members across all divisions of Council have a sense of pride in belonging to the organisation and are embracing a high-performance culture.”

 

“In the next five years, the population of the Wollondilly Shire is expected to grow by approximately 20% to 72,000. Ben has been setting us up to manage our growth for the future; by improving Council’s processes, investing in our people and equipment, and having a strong financial plan in place.”

 

“The investment is paying off, with Wollondilly consistently rated as the fastest Council in the state for processing residential Development Applications over the past year and with our advocacy priorities gaining traction at a state and federal level.”
