Wollondilly Shire Council will host the official opening of the upgraded Bargo Skate Park on Monday 25 February from 4pm-7pm.

A scooter competition and free sausage sizzle will be held to celebrate the completion of the $52,000 revamp of the park.

This project was supported by the Australian Government, with $20,000 provided by Angus Taylor through the Stronger Communities Program, while Council contributed $32,000 to the renovation.

The park upgrade was designed with the input of local young people who were asked to provide their ideas for the site.

The skate park now features an additional quarter pipe, street spine and half pipe. The process took six months from consultation through to supply and installation.

Mayor Matthew Deeth said, “The revamp of this facility is great news for the community of Bargo. Council has had some really positive feedback from users since the installation.”

“We invite all young people in the area to come along on 25 February, to participate in the Scooter competition and enjoy the upgraded skate park.”
