Council has received advice from its specialist contractor that air and surface testing at Bargo Waste Management Centre have not detected asbestos at the site.
As such Bargo Waste Management Centre will reopen to the public on Saturday 20th August and will operate as usual.
Luke Johnson, General Manager, states “I would like to thank everyone for their patience during the temporary closure. Clearly when concerns such as this are raised public safety is a top priority. I am very pleased with the positive outcome.”
Council apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused residents, but Council is committed to community safety. This commitment was displayed through this temporary closure to ensure potential risks to the public were prevented until testing was complete and the site deemed safe.
