Broughton Pass Temporary Road Closure
Posted on: 09.08.2017
The final repairs to Broughton Pass will take place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August, during which time Broughton Pass will close temporarily between the hours of 6am to 6pm. This additional stabilisation work will improve the longevity of the bridge approach on the Appin side of Broughton Pass.
Mayor for Wollondilly, Judith Hannan said, “This will be the last part of the repairs at Broughton Pass. We understand that this may cause disruption or delay to the travel plans of our drivers, but we need to close the road while the works are in progress for the safety of our road users and workers.”
Due to site restrictions the best way to complete the stabilisation works is to close Wilton Road, at Broughton Pass, for at least one 12 hour shift on Saturday 19 August commencing at 6am. If additional time is needed to complete the works, the road will close again on Sunday 20 August from 6am to 6pm.
General Manager, Luke Johnson, said “We will maintain regular communication with those that use the road by posting updates on Council’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as on the variable message boards that you see on the road.”
For those that plan on using Broughton Pass on the weekend of the 19 and 20 August please follow Wollondilly Shire Council or Live Traffic NSW on Facebook or Twitter, or visit the Alerts section of Council’s website for updates on road closures.
