Council encourages community to have their say on M9 Orbital proposal

Wollondilly Council is encouraging residents to comment on the announcement made by the NSW Government last week regarding draft road and rail corridors.

Community members are invited make a submission to the State Government at to have their say on how the proposed corridors will impact them and their community.

Mayor Judith Hannan said, “We are particularly concerned that there may not have been enough community consultation by the State Government on this issue prior to the announcement of the recommended corridor.”

General Manager Luke Johnson said, “Although Council recognises the need to preserve transport corridors, we are very concerned at the impact the proposed corridor will have on parts of the Wollondilly community.”

Council has set up an email address specifically for residents who wish to share their feedback with Council so that we can see what is being sent to the State Government and advocate on behalf of Wollondilly residents. Comments and copies of submissions can be sent to

On the Transport for NSW website there is a mapping tool that drills down to each individual property and shows the extent of each corridor to be preserved.
