Family Day Care a great alternative to Long Day Care
Posted on: 10.02.2017
The school holidays are coming to an end and with parents returning to work and the older kids returning to school, parents are faced with the conundrum of child care and after school care options for their kids. Wollondilly’s Family Day Care services can be the solution for many families as they offer a wide range of services with flexible hours and were rated as Exceeding National Quality Standard under the National Quality Framework in December 2016.
Wollondilly’s Family Day Care services provide quality care for small groups of children up to 12 years of age. They provide a safe, secure and stimulating home environment for young children with both educators and families supported by our professional co-ordinating Team.
This differs from standard long day care centres that have limited hours and only cater for children under the age of 6 years. The hours of care in a Wollondilly Family Day Care environment can be matched to your family’s needs and may be available on weekends or overnight if needed. This is to cater for other working arrangements like shift workers, part-time and casual workers. It also accommodates for before school and after school care, and vacation care.
Family day care’s flexible hours and the fact that they care for children up to 12 years of age means that siblings can stay in care together even once they start primary school. Gone are the days of two pick-ups and drop offs. Add to this the benefits of smaller groups of children per educator and the opportunity for you and your children to develop a close relationship with your educator.
Wollondilly Family Day Care’s National Quality Standard rating of “Exceeding” highlights how we go above and beyond the requirements of the National Quality Framework and are an exemplary service.
Ally Dench, Executive Director Community Services & Corporate Support, states, “Our network of Family Day Educators have received a rating of Exceeding National Quality Standards. We are very proud of what our service and Educators have achieved and we are committed to maintaining this level of standard now and in the future.”
“The well-being of our families is paramount and we take pride in the flexibility of our services. Our flexible service means that it will be easier for families in Wollondilly to find an educator that meets their needs and relieve some of the pressure working parents experience when looking for care for their children.”
