Funding Welcomed for All Abilities Playground

Posted on: 29.06.2016

Wollondilly Shire Council is warmly welcoming the announcement from Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor that the Federal Government will commit $350,000 towards the All Abilities Playground at Warragamba.

Mayor, Simon Landow said: “This funding will go a long way towards this much needed Regional Facility in Warragamba and we would like to thank the Federal Government for their generous contribution to our Community”

“The All Abilities Playground will be a boost to our local area, which will provide play facilities and toilets specifically catering for kids and adults with disabilities. It will also provide the Community with a unique and treasured facility while contributing to the revitalisation of the Warragamba CBD.”

The Playground will be designed in partnership with the Touched by Olivia Foundation and will involve a range of community consultations to ensure it contains the right equipment and meets local needs.

The project was identified in 2012 by the local community who formed a working group with Council. Council then established a partnership with the Touched by Olivia Foundation in 2014 with a commitment to the project made by both organisations.
