Get Creative and Help Plan the Future of Wollondilly

Posted on: 07.11.2016

Wollondilly Shire Council has begun a community consultation program to review our long term strategic plan so that we better understand the community’s needs and wants for Wollondilly. The first step of this consultation is the “Create Wollondilly 2033” art competition. Open to anyone that lives, works, studies or plays in Wollondilly. The art competition opened this week and will close on 4pm Friday 16 December.

To inspire budding artists Council is asking entrants to get creative and help inform the future of Wollondilly by designing an artwork that expresses their vision for Wollondilly and answers the question “What do you want Wollondilly to look like in 2033?”

Entries can be in any form of artwork whether it be a photo, drawing, painting, sculpture, or diorama and can be submitted directly to Council at Council's Administration Building (62-64 Menangle Street, Picton).

Ally Dench, Executive Director said “This art competition is an innovative way for Council to better understand what opportunities the community would like to see in the future. We are asking the community what is on their wish list for Wollondilly in 2033. Would they like a new school or playground, more local jobs, farms and rolling hills, better transport?”

“Council would like the community to tell us, through art, what they love about Wollondilly and what they would like to see in Wollondilly in the future”.

There are two categories to the art competition:

  • 15 years and under

Prizes for this category are: 1st Prize: $150 voucher
2nd Prize: $75 voucher

  • 16 years and above

Prizes for this category are:
1st Prize: $150 voucher
