Launch MAGIC – Macarthur Access Group for Inclusive Communities
Posted on: 15.12.2015
The Macarthur Access Group for Inclusive Communities, affectionately known as MAGIC is a group formed and driven by the community. It is underpinned by the notion that people with a disability in Macarthur have the right to access services and feel included in a community that respects and accepts differences. Wollondilly Shire Council has proudly been involved in the MAGIC Project for the past eighteen months and the launch was held today at Council.
“This is a fantastic initiative for people with a disability and I’m proud to say that a number of local businesses have jumped on board to become an endorsed MAGIC business. These businesses have been identified as being accessible and inclusive and they are positively contributing to making Wollondilly an inclusive community,” says Mayor, Cr Simon Landow.
MAGIC businesses will provide easy access and inclusion benefits for:
- People with a disability
- Older people
- Delivery people
- Shoppers with heavy bags
- Parents/carers with strollers
If you would like your business to be endorsed in the MAGIC program please contact Sector Connect on 4648 5933 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Also check out the MAGIC website to see who the endorsed businesses are on www.magicproject.org.au
