#See you soon’ – Road Safety Campaign
Posted on: 22.12.2016
Wollondilly Shire Council in partnership with Roads & Maritime Services, Transport for NSW and NSW Centre for Road Safety are aiming to raise motorists’ road safety awareness over the Festive Season and the holiday break.
A campaign has been introduced asking drivers to tweet a message to their loved ones at home or before they get in the car, as a promise to drive safely and make every journey a safe one this summer.
Using the #SeeYouSoon, messages from the public will be displayed on social media, digital billboards and online.
This year alone, 375 lives have been lost on the states roads, 39 more than the same period last year – mothers, fathers, friends and loved ones who never made it home for Christmas. The #SeeYouSoon campaign focuses on the emotional connection between holiday travellers, their friends and families.
“If you are on the roads this holiday season please drive safely, don’t drink and drive, take regular breaks and do not use mobile phones whilst driving. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility and I encourage motorists to take extra care on the roads this holiday season” Director Infrastructure & Environment, Michael Malone.
