Funding Assistance to Support Local Carols by Candlelight
Posted on: 08.09.2017
Wollondilly Shire Council is now accepting applications from local churches and community groups who are planning 2017 Carols by Candlelight events in Wollondilly, with funding of up to $500 available to eligible groups. Applications close Friday 6 October 2017.
Mayor Cr Judith Hannan invites the community to apply, stating “The Community Carols by Candlelight evening is a key event for many towns and villages and I have many memories of the Carols that I have attended throughout the years. Carols by Candlelight are a symbol of bringing our community together to celebrate the Christmas Season.
So it is with pleasure that I encourage local organisers to apply for these funds to help meet the cost of holding a Carols by Candlelight event.”
To be eligible for funding an organisation/community group must:
- Be not for profit
- Be an incorporated body or be auspiced (sponsored) by an incorporated body
- Provide significant benefit to the Wollondilly LGA
- Have no outstanding debts to Council
Applicants must demonstrate linkages to the Community Strategic Plan Outcomes and Strategies.
Applications are available from Council’s website www.wollondilly.nsw.gov.au or by contacting the Community Projects & Events Team Leader on 4677 9611.
