Registrations are open for Clean up Australia Day 2016

Posted on: 05.01.2016

Wollondilly Shire Council encourages residents, schools and businesses to become involved in Clean Up Australia 2016. It's time to take a look around your local area - your streets, parks, sporting grounds, bush land and waterways to find those rubbish hotspots that need attention and register a local site for Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 6 March 2016.

Anyone can be involved, you just need to register your site location on cleanupaustraliaday.org.au

  • Find a local rubbish hotspot or favourite location that you think could use a clean up
  • Jump online at  cleanupaustraliaday.org.au to register your site location and information
  • Ask friends, family, groups in the local community to help out
  • Register them as volunteers for your site!

Cleanup Australia will send you a pack of materials to get you started including rubbish bags, some gloves, registration information and promotional material. On the day a Council officer will visit the registered locations in Wollondilly to support the clean up groups.

YOU campaign

There is also another way YOU can be involved. In 2016 YOU can have your say in the programs Clean Up develops as they continue their effort to stop litter by donating to the YOU Campaign.

YOU donors choose the rubbish item that annoys YOU the most and Clean Up allocates your donation towards development of a program that focuses on that item. Becoming a YOU donor is easy as texting CLEAN to 0437 371 371 or follow the prompts on cleanupaustraliaday.org.au .
