Wollondilly Shire Council would like to send a huge thankyou to Sydney City Council and Camden Council for their help clearing the extra rubbish and debris as a result of the recent storm event in Picton.
Sydney City Council was generous enough to supply 2 large rear compactors, 2 small rear compactors, a tip truck, 2 utes, a mini bus, 2 sweepers, 2 cleansing units, and an additional 13 staff in an effort to help the small businesses and residents after the storm that hit Picton.
Camden Council, despite having to deal with the storm effects in their region, where still generous enough to lend Wollondilly a hand by providing Waste Truck Services to assist with the extra clean up as a result of the Storm Event.
Mayor, Cr Simon Landow “We would like to thank Sydney City Council and Camden Council for their generosity and support in response to the recent storm event in Picton, it is a great comfort knowing these Councils are there to offer and provide their assistance in times of adversity to the Wollondilly community .”
General Manager, Luke Johnson “Both Camden and City of Sydney Councils were extremely quick to offer assistance and provided vital help with the clean-up. I am extremely grateful to both Monica Barone (City of Sydney) and Ron Moore (Camden Council) and their staff for their generous assistance.”
The clean-up efforts continue throughout Picton. Wollondilly Shire Council has set up a recovery information service to support anyone affected by the storms located in the Council foyer, 62-64 Menangle Street, Picton.
