Together Arts Exhibition 2018
Posted on: 16.05.2018
Wollondilly Shire Council will celebrate National Reconciliation Week with the launch of the Together Arts Exhibition at 10am Thursday 31 May at the Wollondilly Shire Hall.
Together Arts is an annual exhibition which brings primary and secondary students from across the Shire together to create art works that represent the theme of reconciliation. The project provides a valuable learning opportunity to celebrate unity and reconciliation with the local Aboriginal community.
This year the theme for National Reconciliation Week is “Don’t Keep History a Mystery” which asks all Australians to reflect on our national identity, and the place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and rights in our nation’s story.
Wollondilly Mayor, Cr Judith Hannan said, “I am always amazed by the quality of artworks the students produce. Their artistic skills get better and better each year and I am excited to see what they come up with this year.”
The three day exhibition is open on Thursday 31 May and Friday 1 June from 10am to 3pm and Saturday 2 June from 9am to 12pm. Everyone is welcome and entry is FREE.
