Two Events for Road Safety - Learner Driver Log Book Run & Parent Workshop

Wollondilly Shire Council is holding two road safety events to assist learner drivers become safer drivers. The aim is to improve young drivers’ safety and reinforce the Roads and Maritime Campaign ‘Towards Zero’ to reduce the road toll in Wollondilly Shire to zero.
A learner driver log book run event is being held on Sunday 30 April 2017 where learner drivers and their supervisors can partake in a planned drive on local rural roads within Wollondilly. The route provides driving experience on an unsealed road, narrow bridges, and freeway and is held in all weather conditions. The morning commences at 9.30am to 1pm with light refreshments provided.
The parent workshop ‘Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers’ is being held on Wednesday 3 May 2017 at Council, 62-64 Menangle Street, Picton, starting at 6.30pm with light supper provided. This workshop is designed to support parents, relatives and friends in the supervision of a learner driver.
The two hour workshop provides information for supervising drivers such as how to complete the log book, understanding the licence conditions for learners and provisional licence holders and practical advice about the importance of the ‘stepped approach’ for learner drivers.
