Volunteers Week 2016
Posted on: 19.05.2016
Wollondilly Shire Council takes great pride in the tireless efforts of our treasured volunteers. On Thursday 12 May, around 50 volunteers from Wollondilly joined Volunteering Macarthur and Wollondilly Shire Council to celebrate Volunteers Week 2016.
National Volunteer Week (NVW) is held annually in May to celebrate and acknowledge the generous contribution our volunteers make to the Community.
Volunteering Macarthur offers a FREE service for people looking to volunteer in Wollondilly, Camden or Campbelltown, they provide face to face interviews to explain volunteering options and to discuss different volunteering opportunities to people looking to volunteer.
Volunteering can be a rewarding and satisfying experience, Volunteering numbers in Macarthur and across the Nation are decreasing so now could be the time to start giving back to organisations you are passionate about.
Volunteering Macarthur (VM) engages with over 60 organisations to provide volunteer referrals and volunteer management for aged care services, local schools, sporting organisations, charity stores, environmental programs, and community services. Total number of individuals assisted towards volunteering in 2014-2015 was 796.
