Ward Boundary Changes on Public Exhibition
Posted on: 21.08.2019
Heading into next year’s Local Government elections, Wollondilly’s ward boundaries will be changing as the electorate moves from three to two wards.
The new ward boundaries are currently on public display, so voters can find out which ward they’ll be in for the 2020 election by viewing the map at the Wollondilly Library, the foyer of the Council Administration building, or on Council’s Your Say website.
The ward boundary changes are a result of the constitutional referendum which was held in conjunction with the Council elections on 10 September 2016, to determine if Wollondilly wanted a popularly elected mayor and a reduced number of wards.
Over 65% of voters responded with a ‘yes’ in the referendum. This means that Wollondilly will be moving from having three wards (East Ward, Central Ward and North Ward) to having two wards (East Ward and North Ward) in time for the Council election in 2020.
Community members can give their feedback on the proposed changes or ask questions by filling in the form at Your Say Wollondilly or providing a written submission.
