Wollondilly By Election – East Ward

The NSW Electoral Commission, on behalf of Wollondilly Shire Council, will be holding a by-election on Saturday 28 October. The by-election is to fill a vacancy in the East Ward, following the resignation of former Councillor, Ray Law.
Judith Hannan, Mayor said: “Wollondilly is facing unprecedented growth, particularly in the East Ward, and the Councillors and I are looking forward to working with the newly elected Councillor to advocate for the towns and villages of the East.
In the East Ward we have a unique opportunity to build a whole new town in Wilton, we are also advocating for electrified and high speed rail and campaigning to improve Appin Road.”
Luke Johnson, General Manager said: “This is an exciting time to be representing the people of the Shire. They will be working to advocate for Wollondilly’s needs and to drive continuous improvements in our economy, tourism, infrastructure and service provision for our current and future communities.”
Voting is compulsory for all people on the electoral role in the East Ward of Wollondilly Shire and fines apply for not voting.
