Wollondilly Council wins big at the My Gateway Apprentice and Trainee Awards Night

Wollondilly Shire Council had a very successful evening winning 3 awards at the My Gateway Apprentice and Trainee 2016 Awards ceremony. Trainee Emily Langford won “Local Government Trainee of the Year” and “Overall Trainee of the Year”. Kayla Abela took out runner up in “Local Government Trainee of the Year” and Rachael D’Aran was nominated for “Apprentice of the Year” for the second year in a row.
Council works in partnership with the organisation My Gateway to host trainees and apprentices each year and takes pride in supporting and developing these young workers across the organisation.
Mayor Judith Hannan has congratulated all of Council’s trainees and apprentices and has said “This is an outstanding achievement and I would like to acknowledge all our trainees, apprentices and also their supervisors who have mentored and supported them this year.”
Manager Executive Services and Employee Relations Matthew Toro said "Council’s traineeship and apprenticeship program is about aspiring young people kick start their careers in a safe, supportive and professional environment.”
“Wollondilly Council is a great place to work with excellent training and development opportunities and our traineeship and apprenticeship program is just one example of this. We are very proud all of all our trainees and apprentices and what they have achieved this year.”
