Posted on: 22.07.2016
Wollondilly Shire Council is inviting residents to attend the grand opening of the newly refurbished Wollondilly Library on Saturday the 6th of August from 9.30am to 2pm. Along with the grand opening there will be a giant inflatable slide, sausage sizzle, face painting and much more.
During the transition, the Colden Street temporary library will be closed from the 28th of July until the grand opening on the 6th of August. The mobile library service will not be affected and will operate to the normal timetable during this time. You can continue to access books, DVDs, CDs and e-Resources from the mobile libraries.
Luke Johnson, General Manager, said “The new library will have all of the services previously provided such as story time, bookbubs, access to computers, wifi, printing and copying and much more. Libraries provide so many opportunities for the community to learn, have fun and engage with other people. The Wollondilly Library is one of our most utilized community facilities in Wollondilly. We are so proud of the new renovations that will allow the community greater access to library services and to learn, play and meet like-minded people. We hope the community enjoys this new space.”
Mayor, Cr Simon Landow, said: “I am very excited about the re-opening of the newly renovated library. This is a great service for our community with state of the art technology which will continue to support life-long learning.”
A mobile library will be parked in front of the temporary library while the library is closed at certain times of the day so please contact the library staff for more details. The library staff would also like to thank all their loyal customers for their patience during this time.
