Wollondilly Shire Council’s statement about Wilton dog attack
Posted on: 17.05.2019
The fatal dog attack that took place at Wilton yesterday afternoon is extremely upsetting to us and our community; and our thoughts are with the family and all of the first responders that had to manage this very distressing incident.
The Police contacted Council to request our assistance at the property in Wilton after a reported dog attack.
Council’s Animal Control Officer went to the site and promptly secured the reported dog.
There were a number of dogs on the property and our records indicate that there are a number of registered and micro chipped dogs for this address.
The impounded dog is registered and we have no record of any previous reports to council regarding this dog.
While this is now a Police matter, Council is providing assistance as requested from the appropriate authorities. We are also following the standard process for managing a dangerous dog.
