Wollondilly Visitor Information Centre - illuminARTe

As part of the illuminARTe Wollondilly Festival, Council’s Visitor Information Centre will be hosting a number of activities.

Free Picton Walking Tours

The information and photographs used during the tours come from the archives of Picton and District Historical and Family History Society Inc.

The first tour will commence at 12 noon starting at the Visitor Information Centre exploring Argyle Street, the commercial centre of Picton. Some of the attractions will include:

  • The Court House
  • RSL Park
  • 1890s houses
  • St Mark’s Church
  • George IV Inn

The second tour will commence at 3pm starting at the Visitor Information Centre along Menangle Street to the Railway area. Menangle Street was a very busy commercial street in the late 19th and 20th century and some of the buildings have survived. This tour could take two hours. Some of the attractions will include:

  • Victoria Park
  • Stonequarry Viaduct
  • Picton Railway Station
  • Menangle Street buildings 

The duration of each tour will be approximately 1hr 15min.  Walkers must meet at the Visitors Information Centre 10 minutes prior to tour.

Free Information Talks in the Visitor Information Centre

Wollondilly Heritage Centre Talk    1pm

A representative from the Oaks Heritage Museum will be having an information session on the Wollondilly Shire and activities that are carried out at The Oaks Heritage Centre.

Robert Sloss Bushwalking Talk     2pm

Robert Sloss will be giving an information session about bushwalking throughout the Shire.

Fun Things to do in Wollondilly      3.30pm

Come and listen to our expert Tourism Officer talk about fun things to do in Wollondilly.

Free Children’s Question & Answer Competition

The Wollondilly Visitor Information Centre will be running a Children’s Guessing Competition on attractions in the Wollondilly Shire. Drop into the Centre to pick up a form.

All correct entries will go into a draw to win some great prizes including 2 x family passes to Trainworks and a Boomerang from Mowbray Park Farmstays.
