Organising Community Events

Wollondilly Shire Council is keen to support festivals and events in this area and recognises these as an important part of community life.

To make an event successful it is imperative that the Event Organiser ensures their event planning and management meets the necessary regulative provisions of Local and State Government. The Wollondilly Community Events Guide has been developed for organisers of events in the Wollondilly Shire. This Guide has been created under the guidance of the Event Starter Guide developed by the Office of Protocol and Special Events, NSW Premier’s Department.

If you are considering holding an event or even have an existing event in Wollondilly, you must read this to ensure that your event runs as smoothly as possible. To download a copy of the guide click on the Wollondilly Community Events Guide 2018 link.

When planning an event that is aimed at attracting residents as well as visitors from outside the shire,  please contact the Tourism, Innovation and Business Investment team to see if your event can be promoted on the tourism website  events pages or on the Visit Wollondilly Facebook or Instagram pages via or calling 4677 1100.

Please note you must contact a Duty Planner or refer to the Community Events Guide as to whether you need to complete a Development Application.
