Do I need Council's approval to build a pool?
Yes, you must receive Council's approval before constructing any pool. This includes pools located on residential properties, motels, hotels and caravan parks.

Do I need a swimming pool fence?
Yes, all pools require a child-resistant pool fence. If you wish to apply for an exemption please complete our Swimming Pool Fence Exemption Application and email to Council.
Do I need to register my pool?
Yes, all swimming pools must be registered.
You can register your pool through the NSW Swimming Pool Register. The website also provides checklists, pool lookup, pool inspection information and more.
If you prefer, a fee can be paid to Council who will submit it on your behalf. You can complete the PDF Swimming Pool Registration Form and email to Council.
Can Council carry out an inspection of my swimming pool barrier?
Council is available to inspect your swimming pool/spa barrier to ensure compliance with the swimming pool regulations for a nominal fee of $150.
To arrange an inspection, please complete Council’s Swimming Pool Certificate of Compliance Application and email to Council.
