Appin District Skate facility project gets its skates on!
Wollondilly Council has engaged the skate park design experts at Convic to take us through the design, consultation and construction of a new skate facility at Appin Park. This project is funded through the Western Sydney City Deal ‘Liveability Program’ and commences our implementation of the adopted Master Plan for Appin Park.
We have started with asking your thoughts on the project with some pre-design workshops (held on 26 September 2019).
Convic are now working on the draft design and we will asking for your feedback on it around late October, before finalising the design. To keep up to date, check out our Your Say project page.
Here are some snaps of the project to date.

The community have lobbied for a skate park in Appin since 2011. Recognising the need to strategically plan for recreational facilities, Council worked with the community over 2018-19 to develop a master plan for Appin Park which included the provision of a skate facility. Appin Park was considered the most appropriate location for a skate facility in Appin noting its close proximity to the village centre, amenities, other recreation facilities and its good natural surveillance.
Work with the community and young people to deliver a district level skate facility that is unique to Appin.
