What is Family Day Care?

Family Day Care (FDC) provides quality care for small groups of children up to 12 years of age in the homes of approved FDC Carers. Wollondilly FDC provides a safe, secure and stimulating home environment for your children in the Carer's home, with both Carers and families supported by our professional Coordinating Team. Wollondilly FDC provides the opportunity for you and your children to develop a close relationship with your Carer.

Hours of care provided

In FDC, the hours of care are flexible and can be matched to your family's needs. FDC may be available on weekends or overnight if needed. Types of care provided include full-time, part-time, casual, care for children of shiftworkers, before and after school and vacation care.

New carers wanted

If you would like to run a small business from your own home, consider a career in Family Day Care.

Carers are needed to offer a child care service for a small group of children aged 0-12 years in the carer's home.

Carers are needed in many localities and must live in the Wollondilly local government area. Carers need to be people who are warm, caring and enjoy being with children; are willing to work flexible hours; are prepared to obtain or already hold a first aid certificate; are willing to work under Government regulations.

Being a carer will enable you to earn money in your own home while supporting families in the community by offering quality childcare.

You will receive support and training from qualified staff and equipment and toys will be available to add to your own resources.

The Commonwealth Government also supports Family Day Care.

If you are interested in further information on becoming a carer, please call Family Day Care on 4677 8200 and we will send you a copy of our Prospective Carer Information Package.
